Electronic signature for HR and small businesses
The new hire signs their contract, the remote-work agreement and the internal policies from home the day before they start. Employer and employee sign in turn and each receives their copy.
What you sign
- Employment contract and amendments Hiring, extensions, changes to hours or salary, remote-work agreement.
- Internal policies and handovers Data protection, equipment use, health and safety, equipment handover.
- Final settlement and resignation letter The end of employment documented in writing, with a date.
- Confidentiality and non-compete agreements For roles with access to sensitive information.
- Employee authorisations Image use, data sharing with insurers, benefits in kind.
How you do it with iSignYourDocuments
- Upload the contract (PDF or Word) The one your accountant prepares or your own. Mark where the company signs and where the employee signs.
- Add both signers First the employee, then whoever signs for the company. Each receives their link when it is their turn.
- Signed copies for both PDF with both signatures, timestamp and certificate. Store it in the employee’s file.

Legal validity
Employment contracts can be signed electronically in the EU (eIDAS), the UK and the US (ESIGN/UETA): employment law requires a written statement of terms but not a handwritten signature. Registering the new hire with the social-security or tax authority and giving the employee a copy remain mandatory and independent of the signature. Final settlements and resignation letters are valid the same way; the employee can add "under protest" as text before signing.
With Pro: unlimited sends, several signers, reminders, your logo and name on every send, and documents kept for 12 months. €4.99/month, cancel anytime. Create your account to try it free for 7 days — without Pro you still get 3 free sends a month.
Frequently asked questions
Is an electronically signed employment contract valid?
Yes. Employment law accepts written form without requiring a handwritten signature, and eIDAS, UK law and ESIGN recognise simple electronic signatures. You then register the hire with the authorities as usual.
How do the employer and the employee sign?
You add both as signers and they sign in turn. The final PDF carries both signatures with date, time and IP, and each receives their copy.
Can I send several documents in the same link?
Yes. Contract, remote-work agreement, policies and equipment handover in a single link; one signature per document.
Does it integrate with our software?
With the Business plan you get an API and a widget to generate links and receive signing status from your system.
