Legal validity
A simple electronic signature cannot be denied legal effect solely because it is electronic (eIDAS Regulation, art. 25; ESIGN Act §101 in the US). Its evidential weight depends on the evidence that accompanies it: every document carries an audit trail with timestamp, IP and signer email, plus the SHA-256 hash of the PDF. Acts that require a qualified signature, witnesses or a notary (deeds, certain court filings) still follow the usual channel.
With Pro: unlimited sends, several signers, reminders, your logo and name on every send, and documents kept for 12 months. €4.99/month, cancel anytime. Create your account to try it free for 7 days — without Pro you still get 3 free sends a month.
Frequently asked questions
What evidential weight does this signature have against a third party?
It is a simple electronic signature with evidence: audit trail, timestamp and email identification. In practice it is the same category DocuSign or Adobe Sign use in their basic tier, and it is admissible as documentary evidence.
Can I later verify that a PDF has not been altered?
Yes. On the "Verify" page you upload the PDF and we check its hash against the one recorded at signing.
Can I collect the retainer when the engagement letter is signed?
Yes, with "Get paid on signing". The client pays by card after signing and the amount reaches the firm’s Stripe account.
Where are the documents stored?
On servers in the EU, encrypted. They are deleted after 7 days on the free plan and after 12 months on Pro, unless you delete them earlier.
